SPOILERS AHEAD.

Wynonna goes back to School! And obviously everything goes wrong there.

A fellow ex-student and former hockey player ends up dead even before the homecoming officially starts, taking out his liver himself. The perpetrator of the crime was a Marzaniok, a scarecrow looking genie like demon, collecting what was promised to it 10 years prior.

Watch out, purgatory, Wynonna Earp Demon Detective is on the case. Her suspect is Perry, another 2007 Hockey Star, and Wynonna's homecoming date. Perry runs from the school with friend Skip, and when finally the oldest Earp find a very drunk Skip, he informs her that Perry marked his forehead and his door with a symbol in blood.

Wynonna thinks Perry is marking his friend as sacrifices. He drops later unannounced on the homestead, and of course the BBD crew knocks him out. [Don't show unannounced after a few killings.] Waverly sheds some light on the symbol Perry drew on Skip's forehead, [and his own] as an Algiz, an ancient rune of protection.

Speaking of Waverly, her demonic part is more and more present, as she keeps collecting shining things, eating questionable food and lashing out. And the only one who seems to notice is her girlfriend Nicole. And she asks Wynonna if she sees something different on Waves, something the older Earp takes as if Nicole is trying to change her baby sister. The deputy is having a terrible day, as her professional life seems to crumble after Gooverly kisses her while in uniform. She arrest a guy who keeps taking pictures of the cheerleaders hoohaas. The guy turns out to be Tucker Gardner, Mercedes' younger brother and apparent resident pervert. Of course, Nedley doesn't press charges as the Gardner are the town owners. However at the end of the hour the sheriff reveals, that not only he has been keeping tabs on Tucker for years, but also wants Nicole to take his job once he retires.

Doc convinces Wynonna to keep the Marzaniok alive, to use it to rescue Dolls. He let's her now about the lab under Shorty's when he and Rosita have been trying to reverse engineer the serum that keeps Xavier strong and human. Wynonna spends the entire hour kinda jealous of Doc's mixologist, up until she finds out her role in bringing Dolls back.

Also I've been loving Doc's wardrobe this season so far, very dapper.

The BBD new recruits make a plan to capture the demon on the hockey trophy, which apparently is it's vessel, they split up to complete this task. Wynonna goes to the school to find the cup, in a kinda hilarious scene of her kicking teenagers butt, while Mercedes sees from afar [What an awesome crazy bitch]. Waverly goes to find out where Skip is, when she is confronted by Tucker who has just been released from jail. He tries to practically bully her into controlling her friend, Nicole. Once Waverly informs him Nicole is her girlfriend he gets homophobic, something Waverly or Gooverly in this case is not going to tolerate. She chokes him for a hot second before being distracted by his shiny silver chain, that she takes away as Doc calls her.

Doc and Perry try to find the rest of the team that made the deal with the demon 10 years ago, but the only one still alive is Skip.

The Marzaniok gets to the sheriff department to kill Skip, as he has been arrested. He is in Nicole's custody, and at that point she is fed up, and done with everything, she gets her ass handed to her, by the demon-genie, trying to protect Skip. Luckily, Doc, Wynonna and Perry arrive at the scene. Perry tries to use a ancient german spell to kill the demon, which obviously doesn't work. Finally Wynonna tricks the marzaniok into going inside the hockey trophy. Leaving both Perry and Skip mostly okay.

After his run into Waverly, Tucker wants to press charges against her and Nicole. And has his older sister, Beth convinced to do so. However, Mercedes is having none of it, and she sticks to her guns, prohibiting her siblings to sue anyone. As Tucker leaves, after a temper tantrum, the black widow figures appear behind Mercedes, and it looks like they killed her. [Really sad about this because I love/d Mercedes] However it was the second time the black widows went after her, which maybe have something to do with her family. [Also how did even both her parents die???]

As Doc needs the demon blood to the serum for Dolls, Waverly works on translating an incantation to control him. Wynonna is still a little concerned about her baby sister relationship with Nicole, as she keeps being oblivious of Waverly demonic possession.

Waverly goes into full Gooverly, piling up her shiny objects and laughing maniacally as Dolls enters crawling in the barn.

It was a funny episode full of the usual and fantastic one liners. I'm theorizing the widow figures have something to do with the Gardner's. And if they really killed Mercedes, she will be missed, what a fantastic Wynonna stan. I've been missing Dolls, hopefully we will have more of him next week. Can we talk about the scene opener? WOW. Dominique Provost-Chalkley killed it on her choreography. And Nicole will get rid of the khakis, I can't wait. Also to know about both Jeremy and Rosita. And really hoping for Mercedes to still be alive, as Wynonna really needs a girl friend who is not her sister.
