How many times can Optimus Prime vanquish Megatron and the decepticons? Do we really need 2 and a half, hours of nonsensical explotions? Please, make it stop. So, buckle up, and let's tear apart this disaster.

For the fifth time Michael Bay directs the movie, and if you have been living under a rock, the guy has gone off the rails with this franchise. And if you thought the previous movie, Age of Extinction, was a mess this one is even worst. And like this review, is all over the place (Honestly, I don't really know how to tackle this thing).
As Age of Extinction didn't have any connection to the previous three installments, Bay obviosly had to figure a way to do so, even if that meant throwing away the little logic the franchise still had. That's the only reason Josh Duhamel's and John Turturro's, characters return.

They didn't bring Nicola Peltz' Tessa back, i'm guessing because she didn't connect with audiences, hence the introduction of Isabela Moner's Izabella. Who was only there to fill the daughter figure to Mark Wahlberg's Cade. I'm all for diversity, and I'm glad they went for a latina girl, but she has nothing to do here, other than being Tessa's replacement.
Jerrod Carmichael' Jimmy was another filler character who in paper was okay but in the screen just felt flat, like he was trying way to hard to be funny. The pacing of the movie is a complete disaster. Some scene were way too long for no reason, and some where completely unnecessary.

I've to admit, I enjoyed some of the ridiculousness this movie has to offer, I'm a simple gal, sometimes stupidity amuses me. I found some of the lines and actions of the metallic butler, Cogman, and Vivian's family hilarious.
Is still beyond me why sir Anthony Hopkins would agree to do this movie but I hope he at least had fun, as his character reason to be in the movie was just to kinda explain to us know what in the world was happening. Acting wise, he did everything he could to make his character interesting.

To me the best part of the movie was Laura Haddock's Vivian. She was sassy, she was intelligent, she didn't need no man... Until she met Cade. Then everything goes out of the window and she is basically the love interest to Mark Wahlberg's character. But as she is the only one she can touch Merlin's staff, (yeah that's a thing) this film thing they have to recover to save the world, she sticks around.
Bumblebee and the autobots appear long enough to know this is a transformers movie, however Optimus Prime is on the screen on the first five minutes, then he disappear until past half the movie, brainwashed et all. I have to give credit were credit is due, as this movie finally present another villain, presenting Quintessa, the transformers creator, (but Megatron still makes an appearance) that being said, she appears to be evil just for the sake of being evil, no backstory whatsoever.

At the end, everything works out as always, and Vivian and Cade are now a thing. And Izabella is part of the family. The autobots are kinda accepted. Yada Yada... But post credit scenes are a thing in franchises, so we get one of Quintessa's human form, promising havoc, of course.
So... Transformers: The last Knight is a movie that happened... It's a thing. I just wonder why exactly is a thing. Is time for Michael Bay to step away, and hope audiences take another shot at this franchise that can give so much more than nonsensical explosions. Because this one is... awful, to watch very wasted.
We know a Bumblebee movie is on the works, out of Bay's hand, if that is a success, maybe there is hope.
Score: 2/5
