As Alec takes up his role as the head of the institute, he plans on make a changes, something not all of residents of the institute agree on. Luke gets somewhat irrational, and things get even more complicated in Clary's love life.

Alec gives both Jace and Clary the mission of a meeting with the seelie court, as they are still trying to asses if Kaelie was acting alone or if it was orders from above. Simon makes his way into the mission, and accompany both of them. The seelie world proved to be a really devious place, just as it's queen, who after revealing that Kaelie did work with someone else, and that she already disposed him [lies], tangled both Simon and Jace with magical vines, as a punishment for killing a bug on her realm, [Dramatic much?] but she tells them that she is willing to let them go, in exchange for a kiss.

Obviously, Clary assumes she wants one of them [including herself] to kiss her. But as the cute Seelie queen tells her, it's the redhead who has to kiss, whomever her heart most desires. And unfortunately for everyone involved that wasn't her boyfriend Simon, but her former but not really brother, Jace. After the really long lip lock, Simon flees the scene, with the seelie queen farewell probably ringing on his ears; Shadowhunters always choose each other.
Over the institute, Alec has being hosting cabinet meetings with the leaders of the downworld, and he and Magnus agree to keep it professional. However, the real rebel of the group is none other than Luke, who is still trying to get the soul sword destroyed and Valentine killed. Something Alec tries to explain will take time, and Lucian is having none of it. So when someone [Sebastian] calls him and offers him a way [Sebastian] to kill Valentine [SEBASTIAN] he accepts.

And when he is about to, Sebastian lets Alec know Luke has been lost on the cameras down there, so they rush over Valentine cell and stop Luke from doing something really stupid. However, as a sign of this good will Alec lets Luke go.
On the final minutes of the hour we see that Sebastian has someone over his flat where he is basically torturing the guy.

Minor stuff
I was somewhat sad Raphael and Isabelle had to part ways. Both were good for each other in a way, and Isabelle who at the start of the show was overly sexualized was willing to let that go because of the strong connection she had with the vampire. But he was right, feeling they could both get back into the addiction if they kept being so close.
Luke new partner [who I'm not quite sure what's her deal] spots a wolf in a photo she took while spying Luke over the jade wolf.
Maryse was around the institute asking for forgiveness to both Luke and Izzy.
Clary and Izzy friendship is too good, too pure. And must protected at all cost.

Episode 2.14 was a little hints episode, where we cement Sebastian is shady AF, and obviously has some ulterior motive to be at the new york institute. I'm sad we didn't get Maia this week, other than a mention, and sadly they got back again with Clary and Jace as a couple. There is just 3 more episodes this season, let's see where they led us.
Score: 3.6/5
