If there was any doubt that Wynonna Earp was Melanie Scrofano's show, this episode will clear it out, as she gives probably her best acting since the start of the show. And she has been consistently excellent in every episode so, there is that.

Let's Pretend We're Strangers picks up the morning after the tentacle demon jumped into Wynonna, it has tied up Waverly and it's well entertaining into making breakfast, which casually includes a rat. While catching up Waverly on all it's plans. Turns out the baby Earp has been fighting the demon for 7 weeks, and she was doing a hell of a job as the demon couldn't really do much of it's plans. However Wynonna is way different than her sister, and the tentacle demon, Mikshun, goes over board on it deeds, so much that Doc quickly picks up on it's misbehaving, and lock it up in jail.

Lucado figured out that Dolls was in town and she was ready to kill him. But on a turn of events, over the news that Wynonna was possessed they started working together. Dolls was tasked with the mission to get Wynonna's tissue, bones, blood... to get the goo out of it, so, naturally he cuts her finger. Once Lucado gets the goo from Wynonna's finger, the demon talks to her, [the same way it talked to Waverly last season] and she touched it, as result her head explodes, so by Lucado [Now that I was starting to really liking her].

Dolls figures out a way to get the demon out of Wynonna but they don't actually know how too kill it beyond that. Waverly sneaks out and using peacemaker she forces Mikshun to go into her body. Wynonna is now aware of the tentacle demon plan and follows her baby sister back to the homestead.

Juan Carlo makes his return while working with the order, a ancient society tasked with protecting the ghost river triangle. And as Wynonna puts it out, where the hell have you been. Their leader Ewan [or as our queen Melanie Scrofano baptised him Fitbit, played by Brendan Fehr] is convinced that Wynonna is still possesses, as is Waverly so they both have to die. After an argument, and the oldest Earp convinces the order she is not quite possessed, Doc trades the Edwin Earp plate [which has the order's sigil painted underneath] for safe passage into the barn, however Fitbit only allows Wynonna to get in, for 15 minutes before they kill Waverly.

Inside the barn, Gooverly has convinced her girlfriend [Who was waiting inside] that her sister is the one to have been possessed, and as Nicole earlier had an argument with Wynonna, she believed. The goo had constructed some kind of antenna [with all the shinny, silvery stuff Waverly have been collecting for weeks] to spread itself to all Purgatory, using the storm which is fast approaching. Wynonna brings the demon exorcist concoction Dolls had made, and Nicole is ready to shoot her if she gets closer to Waverly, but as Gooverly asks Nicole to kill her sister, the cop realizes that Wynonna is telling the truth and is her girlfriend who is possessed.

With an old childhood trick, Wynonna manages to force Gooverly into drinking the concoction, and the demon is pushed out of the body, only to be killed with peacemaker.

The Order takes the plate away and retires. Wynonna later drops by their headquarters, and Fitbit asks her to be allies, something she doesn't agree on, but doesn't disagree either.

Jeremy [who earlier had been task with analizing the picture in the Edwin Earp plate in the BBD HQ] returns and informs Dolls that everything and everyone on BBD is gone.

The heir returns to the homestead, where her baby sister is waiting for her. She tells her that when Mikshun returned to her body it told her some secrets about her sister, and that she believes not even herself is aware of said secret. She pass her sis a bag with a pregnancy test, and in the final seconds we get to see is a positive, the heir is with child.

As previously stated, this is Melanie Scrofano's best episode, and you should be left in awe when you realize that, like her on screen counter part, she was also pregnant [six months], while filming and making all her stunts. [I was really wondering about the whole scarfs and big sweaters and jackets up until this episode] It was fantastic of the writers to include this in the show as Wynonna has always been somewhat of a rebel, and very much a hot mess. How will she deal with a baby and her job, is going to be a fantastic character study. And also who's the father? The obvious answer would be Doc, but on Wynonna Earp you never know. This is probably one of the best episodes of the show, not only for the acting but also because of the script.

While Wynonna Earp is pretty much a very campy show, it doesn't treat it's audience like children. The protagonist being possessed could have been dragged out for weeks, but instead, the episode gave answers right away, and didn't waste any time over explaining everything. It was also brilliantly directed, and [as always] the one liners were on point.

Score: 4.5/5
