Weekly Movie News [July 2 - July 8]

• Fantastic Beast and where to find them sequel release synopsis as filming begins. It reads: As he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world. The sequel is written by J.K. Rowling and will pick up a few months after the end of the first movie. The untitled Fantastic Beasts sequel opens November 16, 2018.

• After the success of the first one, Edgar Wright says Sony is interested in a sequel for Baby Driver. Wright has never done a sequel, but he is thinking about it. As Baby Driver is a critical and financial success, as it has made $70,883,072 Worldwide in two weeks on the screen, with a $34 million budget.

• Hellboy: rise of the Blood Queen is likely heading to Lionsgate. The reboot directed by Neil Marshall and starring David Harbour, had been looking for a home, it looks like it has found one. Negotiations are still ongoing, but it's looking positive as Lionsgate is looking for a new franchise. Filming on Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen is slated to begin this fall.

• Samuel L. Jackson to appear in Captain Marvel movie, as Nick Fury. The last time we saw Jackson's Fury it was in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Fury is the connective tissue in the MCU, and so it makes sense for him to be at the first solo appearance of Brie Larson's Captain Marvel, which has a March 8, 2019 premiere date.

• Randall Park to play SHIELD agent, Jimmy Woo in Ant-Man and the Wasp movie. In the Ultimate Marvel comics storyline, he is working alongside Sharon Carter. SHIELD involvement in the movies has been non existent since Winter Soldier, if this casting come true as if he is a SHIELD agent how much will it change the overall storyline of the organization? Ant-Man and the Wasp opens July 6, 2018.

• Daniel Craig rumored to return for Bond 25.

• Geostorm new trailer. Starring: Gerard Butler, Abbie Cornish, Ed Harris, Andy Garcia, and Jim Sturgess.

• Dunkirk reveals TV spot and a series of images. Starring: Fionn Whitehead, Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Harry Styles
