This episode was a roller coaster of emotions.

Following the heartbreak from the Seelie court, Simon gives himself away to drinking blood. And he went to hard with it that he thought he killed a girl for half an episode, and he was actually arrested for it. However, he realized he didn't do it because the victim died from bites on her feet, something that is a big no no to Simon and he escapes police custody. Turns out the one who killed the girl, Heidi [who was some kind of junkie who likes to be bitten by vampires] was one of Simon's groupies, Quinn.
When Simon finds out, he tracks Quinn down and says he's gonna turn him to the Clave and Quinn was having none of that, so he attacked the daylighter. In self defense Simon kills Quinn right on time for the arrival of Luke, Raphael and Clary.
Simon relationship with Clary is no longer a go, as Simon says he needs time. And as much Clary is trying to convince him that her kiss with Jace meant nothing, Simon is not stupid. As Izzy told Clary at the beggining of the episode, it's not crazy to love two people at the same time. And while it might be true that Clary loves Simon, it's not the same love he has for her, and not the same love she has for Jace.

Magnus has been acting weird since his body change with Valentine, something Alec has noticed, but Magnus being himself just keeps it to himself. But at the end, with encouragement from his sister, and using Magnus' words against himself, Alec convinces the high warlock to talk. When he was being tortured as Valentine, he was forced to relive his worst memory, which is the death of his mother. She took her own life, and his step father blamed him, calling him an abomination. Young Magnus lashed out and killed his step father, burning him to the ground. The high Warlock told Alec he didn't want him to see the ugly side of him, something his boyfriend replied with a there is nothing ugly about you.

Over the Jade Wolf, Luke met with Ollie. Once he made sure she never reported her encounter with Simon, Raphael shows up, and uses his encanto to make her forget about the whole ordeal.
The Institute got a visitor, Aline Penhallow, an old friend of the Lightwood's and Sebastian cousin. Izzy and Jace are tasked with transporting Valentine to Idris, a mission that goes very, very wrong as Duncan brought Valentine to Sebastian, in order to save his family, of course that never happens as Sebastian kills him.

Turns out Sebastian is not who he claims to be, as it's revealed earlier in the episode that the person he had tied up in his apartment is the real Sebastian Verlac. Who made the escape from the apartment once he found out Aline was in NY, but as he was getting close to her, as hurt as he was, fake Sebastian got to him first and killed him.
It was revealed that fake Sebastian was really Jonathan Morgenstern, Valentine's son.

Episode 15 was a good character study, we went along with Simon who is discovering more and more about the shadow world and himself, as we got to know something about Magnus past.
The big bad of the season keeps slowly unraveling, at least to the audience, as the shadowhunters are pretty oblivious about the whole Sebastian/Jonathan stuff, other than Valentine being gone. Simon stood up really good by himself, both in the storyline as well as Rosende's acting which was fantastic. Also kudos to Harry Shum Jr. who made the screen entirely his own, in the little screen time he had with his highly emotional performance.
What do you think is coming in the rest of the season?
Score: 4/5
