  • Moonlight director Barry Jenkins sets his next project at annapurna, as he will direct the adaptation for If Beale Street Could Talk, from a novel of the same name by James Baldwin, which follows the story of a newly engaged Harlem woman who races against the clock to prove her fiance innocence while carrying their first child. Filming is expected to begin in October.

  • John Oliver to voice Zazu in the upcoming Jon Favreau live action adaptation of The Lion King.

  • Quentin Tarantino is ready for his next film, as he is moving forward with his next project, his own spin on the real life events of the Manson Family murders. The story will center in Sharon Tate, the actress and wife of director Roman Polanski who was murdered by Mason and his followers in 1969. Reports say Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence have been approached to star. However rumor says Lawrence will not be playing Tate, but that the favorite for the role is none other than Margot Robbie.

  • Marvel release Black Panther new images. [Via: Entertainment Weekly]

  • Chris Terrio and Ben Affleck's Batman script has been officially scrapped, as director Matthew Reeves says they're starting from scratch, as the movie will be a new take for the Batman.

  • Director David Ayer departs the Scarface proyect due to creative differences, as his take on the script was too dark for the studio, as well as his schedule problems with his upcoming Netflix movie, Bright. Antoine Fuqua previously departed the project.

  • Joe Pesci has finally agreed to costar in Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, reuniting with Robert DeNiro.

  • New Images for Wrinkle of Time directed by Ava Duvernay. [Via: Entertainment Weekly]

  • The Shallows director Jaume Collet-Serra is reportedly the frontrunner to helm Suicide Squad 2. Previous Suicide Squad director, David Ayer, is now supposed to direct the Gotham City Sirens movie.

  • R.L. Stine Fear Street books are being adapted by 20th century Fox. Leigh Janiak has been tapped to rewrite and adapt the script.
